South America
The most popular sport in all South American countries is, by far, association football. However, a wide range of sports are played, including basketball, volleyball, field hockey, baseball, rugby union, tennis, golf, cricket and polo. South America is home to the longest running international football tournament, the Copa América, which has been regularly contested since 1916.
